Are you looking for the healthiest water possible for your home? You’re not alone. Many homeowners have concerns about water-borne contaminants, everything from lead and other heavy metals to pesticides and chemicals and hard water minerals. How can you remove most of these pollutants and ensure you and your family have fresh, clean water?

You have several options. You could try to switch over to drinking only bottled water. You can get special filtration pitchers to filter the water you drink. You can have point-of-use filters installed for several of the faucets and taps in your home. Or you can arrange to have the installation of a whole house water filter in Tampa.

We recommend you go with the last option. Whole-house water filtration is the most effective, efficient, environmentally friendly, and cost-saving choice, as we’ll explain.

Bottled Water? Nope

The bottled water industry is enormous, and it wants you to think it has the best answer to your worries about the water in your taps. But bottled water isn’t always the fresh option it’s marketed as. Much of it is just water from a local municipal supply that has gone through some extra filtration. Bottled water isn’t regulated the way municipal water is, so you have no guarantee this water is any improvement over your tap water.

Bottled water is also expensive and bad for the environment. All the plastic will end up in landfills, and you’ll have paid a whole lot more for the privilege of water that isn’t even a significant health improvement.

Filtration Pitchers? Nope

Using filtration pitchers at least removes the higher expense and environmental troubles from bottled water. But these pitchers have only limited effectiveness. They use charcoal filters that help remove larger particulates, but they have little effect on chemicals and heavy metals. You also get no benefit to the water used anywhere else in your house, like in showers and washing machines.

Point of Use Filters? Not Bad, But…

Filters used for individual taps can do some good, especially if you work with professionals who know the exact type of filter to use. But if you want to get the most from these filters, you’ll need to install them in multiple locations around your home. So maybe the best option is…

Whole-House Water Filtration System

A whole-house water filter is a device that professional plumbers install where the water main enters a home. This way, the filter affects all the water for the house, no matter what tap it ends up going to, no matter what it’s used for. You can have all your concerns for water quality taken care of at a single point, letting you relax knowing you’re getting the most pure water at every tap, for every purpose.

There are different types of water filters to address all types of water quality issues, such as hard water, bio-contaminants, and chemicals. These whole-house filters are more effective than smaller filters at doing their job. They’ll keep bottles out of the landfill and help you save money year after year. In fact, whole-house water filters will protect your plumbing as well as your household, helping it last longer with fewer repairs.
